New Yorker Gourmet Burger( Dougie's grill)

Dougie's grill provides authentic Mediterranean Cuisine with specializing in providing Portuguese styled chicken. The franchise has been experiencing quite a success upon establishment for instance, their 'Aussie Burger' has been named one of the top ten burgers in Sydney by the Daily Telegraph. They have a lot of outlets in Sydney. Although I planned in trying out the famous 'Aussie Burger' due to their kitchen difficulties i was offered the New Yorker Gourmet Burger instead. And i was promised that i won't be disappointed, which was actually true.

The burger was made of Black Angus beef which was perfectly marinated with mustard and cheese dripping out of the bun but a special ingredient that lifted my test buds was their special New Yorker sauce which was spread all over the lightly toasted gourmet bun.

Claypot Noodles @ Albee's Kitchen

Albee's Kitchen is a fairly well known Malaysian restaurant in Campsie, after hearing favourable reviews from a friend, I decided to try it out.

The dish in front of you is fried egg noodles in a thick broth cooked with chicken, prawns and some veggies. After all the hype that was built up before going to the restaurant, this particular dish was rather disappointing. The broth was pretty bland and the chicken was tad overcooked. Is it possible i picked the wrong dish to try since it wasn't their speciality? Or the simple fact that the dish doesn't suit my tastes since I'm more into spice,

I've heard their curry puffs and laksa are very nice, maybe i should try that next...

Stardust cafe

The Stardust café is located in the Rooty Hill RSL club and sells a range of foods such as burgers with chips, salads, pizza, sandwiches and many other dishes. One of the dishes they sell is the Chicken breast schnitzel burger (as seen in the image) and it was very delicious. The freshly cooked crisp bacon complements the crunchy but succulent hash brown and chicken breast, which is all placed in a soft but crisp bread. The burger also contains a creamy mayonnaise sauce and fresh lettuce that makes the dish more appetising. The burger is accompanied by crunchy golden chips that tastes good.

Max Brenner

Max Brenner's chocolate crunch pizza consists of a thin pizza base, a rich milk chocolate sauce that makes your mouth water, soft marshmallows, nuts that are coated in chocolate and crisp cornflakes that adds an extra crunch to the dish. This sweet pizza is perfect for a family dessert or something that you could share amongst friends. The drink on the side is a cookies and cream shake that was refreshing and delicious, perfect for all chocolate lovers.

Din Tai Fung at Westfield Sydney CBS

Came here for a quick lunch, the first thing I can say is service is really fast! I am a massive fan of Din Tai Fun and I was hoping they would open more restaurants around Sydney. love the awesome xiao long bao, Dan Dan noodles and crispy chicken with rice. The xiao long bao is really good, soft, tender and juicy. The Dan Dan noodles and crispy chicken with rice are must have. It is spicy but also sweet.
The wait staff is generally friendly and helpful, which can be rare at Chinese restaurants. However, the price of the dishes is a little expensive.

               Nasai-Lemak with Curry Chicken (PappaRich)

Nasai-Lemak is an authentic Malaysian dish which is also the country's national dish.Although i had never been to Malaysia, i had the pleasure to taste this magnificent dish here, at Sydney. Out of the few Malaysian restaurants i have been to, PappaRich has the best Nasai-Lamak dish,

Nasai-Lamak can be served in a variety of manners. PappaRich's Nasai-Lamak comes with aromatic coconut milk infused in steam rice served with curry chicken, fried anchovies, fried peanuts, hard boiled egg and their mouth-watering spicy sambal and cucumber slices.

If you are planning to have a taste of Malaysia's National dish then you should obviously go to PappaRich and have this delicious dish.

The Choc Pot in Burwood

The Choc Pot's waffles are seriously the best! The Burwood store is always busy and sometimes you will have to wait over 15 mins for your order to arrive but it's totally worth it! My favorites from TCP: strawberry field waffles, and the lord of crepes. The crepe has a soft texture, not too much thick encasing lots of cream. We have also ordered the waffle topped with strawberries and chocolate. It was made to order and warm when served and the vanilla bean ice cream had good flavor. Customer service was pleasant. If you like chocolate dessert, this is definitely the place to go.

Okonomiyaki

Okonomiyaki, Japanese vegetable pancake, is one kind of popular cate in Kansai area, and also part of the Japanese diet culture.

As its special appearance, some people even call this "Japanese pizza" or "muffin". In Japanese, "Okonomi" is the meaning of "add whatever you like", and "yaki" means "fried", so Okonomiyaki is means make your own food that you like with ease.

The time when I travel to Japan this year, I even found that there are many flavours that you can choose, such as octopus, pork or even Korean Kimchi.

Not only can have it like a snack, you can have it in your main meal as well.

Omelet Rice

Omelet Rice, one the famous dishes in Japan, it almost available in every authentic restaurant. For Japanese, this the taste of their hometown.

As you can see, it is just like the Italian pasta has source on the top, or even have some "topping" on it. Inside the egg wrap, is the tomato fried rice which is being packed well. Eating the fried rice by ketchup with the egg outside is the best way to enjoy this dish.

In the photo above, it is with the meat paste and the nuggets on top, which is the best dish I have had in Japan.

Laksa @ Macquarie

Situated in Macquarie Shopping Centre, I'm sure most people who study at Macquarie have at least walked past this restaurant called Simply Noodles.

This time, I've ordered Laksa, a popular noodle dish originated in South East Asia. The dish consisted of rice noodle cooked in a mildly spicy curry alongside some prawn, beef, chicken and fried tofu.

While the meats are great on its own, the real star of the dish is definitely the tofu. It soaks up the curry and as you take a bite, the fragrance of the coconut milk fills the mouth.

A must try restaurant if you happen to walk past it, Macquarie students also get a 10% discount when you present your student card which is a plus

Zumbo's Patisserie

Zumbo, a small store located in the Queen Victoria Building (QVB), is a famous store that is owned by a world renowned dessert chef, Adriano Zumbo. The store sells a variety of different desserts that are perfect for someone with a sweet tooth. One of the desserts (as seen in the image on the left) is called Choc-a-bloc and consists of a luscious chocolate mousse that is surrounded by a crisp, nutty shell. This amazing dessert contains just the right amount of chocolate, even though it looks like it may be overpowering. The satisfying snap of the crisp milk chocolate shell, after taking the first spoonful, is complimented by the smooth but airy chocolate mousse that fills this chocolate goodness.

Another dessert that can be purchased at the store is called chocolate fondant (on the right side of the image) and consists of a rich dark chocolate fudge that makes up most of the dessert. It is also topped with a glazed strawberry, soft meringue, a tangy lime macaron, a creamy white chocolate square and is finally showered over with icing sugar. Each of these toppings taste great on their own but when accompanied by the dark chocolate fudge, it tastes even better.
